Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience in recreational programming in mental health.
• Must have licensure in specialty (CTRS, art therapy or music therapy) and a Nevada driver’s license; BLS and Handle with Care certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive recreational therapy programs tailored to patients aged 6-17.
• Lead and supervise a team of recreational therapists and activity coordinators; provide mentorship and evaluations.
• Conduct patient assessments and create personalized treatment plans using modalities like music, dance, art, yoga, swimming, and equine-assisted activities.
• Coordinate with nursing, mental health, case management, and family members to ensure holistic care.
• Manage medical documentation and comply with HIPAA regulations for patient records.
• Oversee intake procedures and monitor progress using data collection and outcome tools.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques during crises to maintain safety and calm.
• Develop new initiatives aligned with best practices in mental health and senior care.
