Job summary

Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a candidate to develop and oversee therapeutic recreation services and assist with daily operations of the Therapeutic Recreation Center. The role includes planning, supervising and coordinating program schedules for diverse abilities, while mentoring staff and volunteers and supporting partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or an allied health professional field and one (1) year of experience programming activities for therapeutic recreation.
• Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and oversee therapeutic recreational services and assist with daily operations for the Therapeutic Recreation Center.
• Plan, supervise and coordinate scheduling of programs for diverse abilities and needs; supervise staff and volunteers; coordinate orientation of new participants; contribute to department objectives; assist with scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation.
