Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association (NISRA) is seeking a Recreation Program Coordinator to oversee weekly programs, social clubs, trips, and specialty events under the Senior Manager of Recreation. The role requires leadership in planning, budgeting, and evaluating activities for individuals with disabilities across age groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Certified Park and Recreation Professional within first year.
• Extensive knowledge of recreation activities and program planning.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Class D driver's license and Handle With Care and First Aid/CPR/AED or obtainable upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate NISRA's weekly programs, social clubs, trips, and other assigned program areas.
• Work with supervisor to implement new program concepts and adjust existing programs.
• Plan, budget, implement, evaluate and revise assigned programs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with families, member districts and collaborating organizations.
