Job summary

Homewood Living Williamsport is seeking a full-time Activity Director to oversee and enhance the activity program for residents across Healthcare Center, Assisted Living and Independent Living. You’ll supervise activities staff, coordinate events, and develop programs that promote social well‑being and cognitive engagement.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Therapeutic Recreation or related field, with experience in elder care settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field (or 2 years’ experience in elderly activity programming).
• Strong management, communication, judgment and coaching skills.
• Compassion and empathy for older persons; ability to lead and motivate teams.
• Knowledge of activity planning, and ability to ensure resident safety and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activity program to meet psycho-social needs of residents.
• Identify and assess activity needs; participate in care planning and set goals.
• Lead, supervise, hire, train and evaluate activities staff and volunteers.
• Publish communications and calendars; oversee newsletters and events.
