Job summary

Homewood Living Williamsport is seeking a part-time Therapeutic Recreation support role. You will assist the Recreation Coordinator with activities to meet residents' psycho-social needs and help coordinate programs.

Requirements include good English, compassion for the elderly, and a valid driver’s license. The position involves driving the Homewood van and supervising volunteers, with opportunities to engage in weekend/evening activities.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and understand English well.
• Compassion and empathy for older persons.

• Communicate with residents clearly.

• Creative planning of resident activities.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator with individual and group activities
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information
• Develop and guide Reality Orientation activities
• Schedule van usage for drives and events
• Assist in volunteering and supervising volunteers
• Participate in resident care planning when helpful
• Coordinate special activities with external groups
• Document attendance and report changes to licensed nurse
• Perform other duties as directed
