Job summary

Ivory Plains Recovery Center is seeking an experienced cook to manage food preparation for clients, staff, and visitors at the Adair, Iowa facility. You will develop menus, coordinate meals, and ensure meals meet dietary guidelines and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years' experience in an institutional food service role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans and prepares foods according to facility policies and recipes.
• Coordinates cooking schedules to ensure timely service for regular and therapeutic menus.
• Follows recipes and portioning procedures for meats, gravies, casseroles, vegetables, soups, and desserts.
• Maintains food safety by proper temperature logs, storage, labeling, and dating of items.
• Sets up steam tables and labels food for modified diets as needed.
• Directs staff in meal preparation and serving, ensuring nutrition and quality.
• Monitors serving lines and replenishes as needed for uninterrupted service.
• Keeps kitchen clean, inventories supplies, and inspects equipment for safety.
