Job description

Position: Therapeutic Companion/Live-In Coach

Status: Per diem, part-time (Non-exempt)

Compensation: $25 - $35 per hour, daily compensation ranges from $600 - $800 per day depending on client needs. Cases will typically be no less than 1-month engagements.

Who we are:

Intent Clinical is a national behavioral health concierge firm dedicated to helping families and individuals create sustainable solutions to improved well-being. Our team consists of licensed social workers, drug and alcohol counselors, consultants, clinical psychologists, RNs, and care managers. We provide clinical support to clients in their homes and virtually in the form of therapeutic coaching, family coaching, care management for aging adults, and behavioral health navigation.

Who you are:

You are professional, dependable, and able to tailor your therapeutic approach according to each client’s specific needs. You understand the importance of confidentiality and discretion, and are adept at managing crises while remaining calm and focused.

What you’ll do:

  • Coaching and crisis management for individuals in mental health and/or substance use recovery
  • Providing exposure to positive activities in the community
  • Modeling healthy and therapeutic boundaries
  • Modeling healthy coping and daily living skills
  • Providing psychoeducation related to the client’s diagnoses, substance use, and medication management
  • Observation of the client’s behaviors (i.e. dietary, sleep, leisure, etc.)
  • Facilitating efficient, courteous, and respectful communication between treatment team, client, client’s family, companion supervisor, and family coach
  • Creating short and long-term client goal plans; daily documentation of progress
  • Providing connections to community resources, treatment options, peer counselors, and AA/self-help meetings
  • Input detailed case notes, time, and expenses in a timely manner

What you’ll bring:

  • One year or more of experience working as a therapeutic companion, or mental health clinician
  • Direct care experience with a wide range of behavioral health diagnoses
  • Ability to calmly, flexibly, and efficiently manage client crises as they arise
  • Valid driver’s license with safe driving record
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently
  • Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and behavioral health treatments
  • Comfort and quick learning curve with technology on day-to-day tasks (i.e. Microsoft Office, Salesforce)

Nice to have (but not required):

  • Experience working with high-net-worth families
  • Associate’s or college degree
  • Professional licensure (i.e. RN, LMSW, LMHC, LMFT)

This position is part-time and PRN only, and hours are not guaranteed per week. This position is for live-in or transport assignments. Therapeutic Companions/Live-In Coaches on our staff list are contacted on an as-needed basis for cases as they arise.
