Job summary

Children's Home in New York seeks a Teacher Aide to support teachers with structured academic and behavioral instruction in a therapeutic setting. You will help create a safe environment that fosters growth and allows each student to experience success.

The role involves supervising students, joining trainings, and assisting with lesson planning and progress evaluation. Applicants should have a HS diploma, 1 year experience; Associates and TA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma / GED is required.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Certification as a Teaching Assistant preferred.
• 1 year of related experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision to students in a safe, positive environment employing behavior management strategies as prescribed by agency policies.
• Participate in staff meetings, supervisory meetings and trainings.
• Act as a role model for children in the program.
• Assist the Teacher in planning and evaluating student progress in academic and behavioral areas.
• Provide students with direct assistance to achieve success in learning.
• May perform teaching duties if certified as a Teaching Assistant.
• Collaborate with families and community agency representatives to achieve goals.
• Complete required reports and documentation on time.
