Job summary

Life Care Centers of America is seeking an Activities Specialist in West Palm Beach, FL to plan, organize and develop activity programs addressing recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs. Programs are tailored to each patient based on assessments and care plans to support independence and community engagement.

Reports to the Activities Director. Requires state licensure/registration as an activities professional, eligibility for certification, and prior geriatrics

Qualifications

• Licensed or registered as an activities professional by the State where practicing.
• Eligible for certification as an activities professional by a recognized accrediting body on or after Oct 1, 1990; OR
• Has two years of experience in a social or recreational program, one year full-time in a therapeutic activities program; OR
• Has completed a state-approved training course.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and develop quality activity programs (recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, social).
• Chart patient progress and behavior descriptively.
• Escort patients to activities and conduct in-room visits as needed.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and teamwork.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow Life Care policies.
