Job summary

Louisville Seminary invites applications for an Introduction to Preaching Research Assistant (RA) for Fall 2026. The RA conducts research, literature reviews, writes summaries and reports, and maintains citations and records.

Qualifications

LPTS student or transfer student with at least one semester at LPTS.
Completed research methods course (LPTS or equivalent).
Experience as a researcher/RA; library research/teaching experience.
Proficiency with research software and data management tools.
Demonstrates inclusive intercultural practices in the LPTS and global community.
Willing to meet with a librarian for 30 minutes at the start of the semester.

Responsibilities

Conduct literature reviews and summaries of findings.
Cite and verify resources, keep professional research records.
Research materials related to orphans, widows, immigrants, victims of violence, and marginalized communities.
Collaborate with the faculty member in weekly 30-minute progress meetings.
Practice self-care when handling trauma-related materials.
