Position Summary
Job Description Summary: Support the Children, Liturgy, and Ecology Project being directed by Dr. Christy Lang Hearlson and Dr. Tim Brunk. Responsibilities will vary over time and will include some of the following:
- Support curriculum development through an ongoing lit review
- Plan local pilgrimage to a site of environmental interest
- Attend Symposium at Notre Dame, virtually or in person
- Help plan and support on-campus Symposium hosted by Villanova
- Lead or give support to (3) local pilgrimages to sites of environment interest (planned in the prior year)
- Support editorial process for book project
- Attend Grant-funded gatherings of congregational/parish leaders at Villanova
- Serve as coaches to congregational leaders developing projects
- Visit Philadelphia-area congregations to observe projects
Requirements
- Current PhD Student in Theology and Religious Studies Department at Villanova
- Must be able to transport themselves via car or public transportation to sites in and around Philadelphia
- Must have access to a computer
- Conscientious and capable of independent work
- Capable of communicating professionally with community members and church leaders
- Knowledgeable about or interested in the topics of children, liturgy/worship, and ecology/environmentalism
Additional Information
These positions are for a semester at a time; ending no later than 31 August 2027.
Wage Rate: $21
