Job summary

Louisville Seminary is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the Fall 2026 course, Introduction to Preaching (PW 100-3). The TA will read the course materials, attend classes with faculty and students, and support the Professor of Record in fostering a healthy learning environment.

Weekly planning meetings, leading opening reflections, and facilitating small groups are part of the role. Ideal candidates are DMin students (or have completed at least one semester at LPTS for transfers) and have taken

Qualifications

• DMin student or equivalent theological study with at least one semester at LPTS
• Has taken Introduction to Preaching at LPTS or equivalent homiletics/preaching class
• Demonstrates inclusive intercultural leadership in class and in the LPTS community
• Seeks to strengthen leadership skills while contributing to leadership development of students
• Exhibits characteristics of a preacher or homiletician

Responsibilities

• Reads course text and materials
• Attends classes with faculty and students
• Supports Professor of Record in cultivating a healthy learning environment
• Participates in a weekly planning meeting
• Leads opening reflections and facilitates small group discussions
• Assists with feedback as needed (no grading required)
