Louisville Seminary is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the Fall 2026 course, Introduction to Preaching (PW 100-3). The TA will read the course materials, attend classes with faculty and students, and support the Professor of Record in fostering a healthy learning environment.

Weekly planning meetings, leading opening reflections, and facilitating small groups are part of the role. Ideal candidates are DMin students (or have completed at least one semester at LPTS for transfers) and have taken

• Exhibits characteristics of a preacher or homiletician

Intro to Preaching Teaching Assistant (TA) (Fall 2026)

Position: Teaching Assistant for Introduction to Preaching (PW 100-3)

Semester: Fall 2026

Location: In-Person for Class meeting times: Mondays, 6:00 pm–8:50 pm, Schlegel 120

Dates: 01 September 2026 – 11 December 2026

Stipend: $1500 for the semester

The Introduction to Preaching course seeks applicants for a Teaching Assistant (TA) for Fall 2026. The TA reads the course text and materials. The TA attends classes alongside faculty and students. The TA supports Professor of Record in cultivating a healthy learning environment by offering support and reflective peer feedback. The TA collaborates with the Professor of Record in a weekly 30-minute planning meeting, leads opening reflections during class, and facilitates small group discussions over the semester. There is no requirement to grade assignments for this class; however, the TA will assist occasionally with feedback.

The Ideal Candidate

• Is a DMin student (if a transfer student, has completed at least one semester of courses at LPTS)
• Has taken Introduction to Preaching at LPTS or an equivalent homiletics/preaching/pulpit communication class at a seminary or theological school
• Critical thinker who practices embodied open, inclusive, and affirming intercultural practices in class and in the LPTS and global community
• Seeks to strengthen their own leadership skills while contributing meaningfully to the leadership development of students; leans‑on research and best practices
• Displays the characteristics and qualities of a preacher or homiletician.
