Job summary

Universal Orlando Resort is seeking an experienced technician to support Ride and Show lighting systems. You will perform nightly maintenance, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions across dimmers, relays, and control consoles.

You will also modify fixtures and documentation to ensure optimal output and color temperature. Responsibilities include logging work in CMMS, training junior staff, and coordinating with Engineering/Creative/EHS teams.

Qualifications

5-7 years of troubleshooting and repair experience with complex analog/digital lighting equipment/control systems (dimmers, relays, fixtures)
Programming experience with ETC systems preferred
Knowledge of DMX E1.11 protocol and related components
ETCP certification or equivalent experience preferred; theme park experience a plus

Responsibilities

Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on show lighting controls per schedule.
Diagnose failures and implement corrective actions with long-term fixes.
Log inspections, actions, and parts used in CMMS; notify management as needed.
Modify lighting fixtures or designs; update focus diagrams and prints for proper output.
Train new technicians on PM work orders, recovery procedures, and processes.
Respond to downtimes and ride recovery issues following safety rules; coordinate with internal teams.
