Job summary

Hickok Cole is seeking an experienced interior designer in Washington, DC to develop heavily themed concept designs for advanced projects. You will create impactful 3D renderings and detailed design presentations in collaboration with a project team and consultants.

The role includes designing and specifying custom furniture and finishes, directing art curation, and producing precise construction documents to support design implementation from concept to built form.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design is required.
• 8-12 years of experience in highly creative projects such as television/movie set design, commercial, or hospitality projects.
• Experience with concept ideation, renderings, custom products and finishes, space planning, art curation, and art directing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the project team to develop and execute highly creative, themed concept designs from ideation through construction.
• Create compelling 3D renderings and design presentations with the team to communicate design vision.
• Coordinate with project consultants throughout all design phases.
• Design and specify custom furniture, products, and finishes that align with themed concepts.
• Direct art curation and collaborate with fabricators on custom installations.
• Produce accurate construction documents and technical drawings to support design implementation.
• Work closely with the Director of Themed Interiors to refine design concepts and ensure design intent is realized in built form.
