Job summary

The City of Redondo Beach seeks a part-time Theater Technician to assist the Technical Director in maintaining the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. This at-will, seasonal role supports a busy event schedule with duties across lighting, audio, rigging, and stage operations.

Entry‑level candidates are welcome if they are eager to learn; prior professional experience is preferred but not required. This position is not eligible for City benefits.

Responsibilities

• Hang and focus lighting instruments
• Operate follow spotlights
• Set up and tear down orchestra pit
• Repair and maintain lighting cables
• Run microphone cables, backline, and assist with sound check
• Assist with rigging of scenery
• Hang, strike, and store soft goods and curtains
• Running crew positions on shows/events as directed
• Perform other related duties as assigned
