The City of Torrance is recruiting a Theater Technician to join the Cultural Arts Center Theater Team. Under direction from the Stage Manager, you will plan, organize, and perform technical support activities for theater productions and events, including lighting, sound, rigging, and related equipment.

A typical path includes a bachelor’s degree in theatrical production and 1–3 years of experience in lighting, audio, carpentry, and running crew.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Theatrical Production, or related field.
• 1–3 years of professional theater experience including lighting, audio, carpentry, and running crew.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and perform technical support for the Cultural Arts Center.
• Assist in safe operation and maintenance of theater sound, lighting, rigging and related equipment.
• Operate and troubleshoot theater equipment and systems used in productions and events.
