Job summary

The Goodman Theatre seeks a Properties Assistant to join our production team for the 8-show season, including the annual A Christmas Carol. You will procure props, support prop construction, and assist the Prop Supervisor across productions.

With a minimum of 2 years of props experience and a valid driver's license, you will work on deadline-driven moments, lift up to 50 lbs, and collaborate with the crew in a dynamic theatre environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional props experience with knowledge of period detail.
• Able to operate under pressure and adapt to changing rehearsal schedules.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; Photoshop experience is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, vehicle, and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and work on multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Research and shop for period-appropriate furniture and hand props.
• Assist with shopping and ordering materials for prop construction.
• Shop and deliver rehearsal props and expendables for rehearsals.
• Respond to daily needs of rehearsals and productions.
• Assist in building props and maintaining prop areas and storage.
• Participate in load-ins/loads-outs with Prop Supervisor and crew.
