Job summary

The Alley Theatre in Houston, TX invites applications for an Associate Properties Director. You will lead the prop shop in collaboration with the Properties Director, supporting the artistic vision through budgeting, procurement, and production planning for season and productions.

You will supervise prop shop staff, manage prop budgets, coordinate with designers and production teams, and help ensure high production values across all shows and events.

Qualifications

• Three years' experience working in a professional theatre.
• Bachelor's degree in technical theatre or related field preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan procurement and build of props for productions, including scheduling and shop supervision.
• Manage budgets and estimate material and labor costs for designs.
• Assist scenic designers through the production process and implement changes.
• Oversee prop shop operations from build to strike.
• Collaborate with production management, education and community teams as needed.
