Job summary

Illinois School District U-46 is seeking a Theatre Production/Technical Manager to support a high-quality theatre program. The role emphasizes visual and functional aesthetics to provide opportunities for students and will involve managing set pieces, lighting, and sound in collaboration with the Director and Auditorium Manager.

The position requires prior technical theatre experience, strong communication, and the ability to lead student crews with safety in mind.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in theatre education preferred.
• Professional Educator's License preferred.
• High School Diploma required.
• OSHA Power Tool Safety Certification required.
• OSHA Ladder Safety Certification required.
• Related coursework and/or prior related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with parents, students, and staff effectively.
• Maintain theatre equipment and safety standards.
• Assist with building/set design as directed by the Director.
• Schedule theatre spaces with Auditorium Manager and Director.
• Create/procure lighting, sound, and set pieces as needed.
• Attend all performances and support student learning.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Theatre Education

PEL (Professional Educator's License)

High School Diploma

OSHA Power Tool Safety Certification

OSHA Ladder Safety Certification
