Job summary

The Theatre Technical Coordinator at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities will oversee lighting, props, audio, video and rigging for theatre and related performances. The role involves constructing stages, maintaining equipment, and leading a technical crew during live shows and events.

Responsibilities include coordinating with directors and staff, managing livestreams, scheduling crew, and ensuring safety standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Production, Technical Theatre, or related field.
Experience in programming and operating lighting and/or sound consoles.
Ability to lead a team to accomplish a complete production.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with directors, designers, and production staff to interpret production requirements and develop technical plans.
Maintain inventory of lighting, audio, video, prop and staging equipment and read lighting plots.
Schedule crew calls, provide stagehand support, and supervise technical crew during productions and events.
Manage video recording, streaming, uploading and archiving of events.
Program and operate lighting/sound consoles and troubleshoot equipment.
Perform other related duties as required.
