Job summary

The Media Theatre in Media, PA is seeking a full-time General Manager to act as a senior operations and business leader, partnering with the Executive Artistic Director to keep the non-profit theatre's business side running smoothly so the artistic team can focus on performances.

The role includes budgeting, cash flow tracking, payroll, vendor relations, and financial reporting, plus front-of-house and audience operations, ticketing policies, and audience development—with on-site leadership five

Qualifications

• Experience in nonprofit or arts administration, financial management, or front-of-house/operations leadership a plus.
• Experience working with QuickBooks and Financial Reporting required.
• Comfort working across multiple functions - finance and customer-facing operations.
• Strong organizational skills and the flexibility to adapt.
• A collaborative mindset and genuine enthusiasm for supporting live theatre.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Executive Artistic Director and Board committees to manage the annual budget, track cash flow, and report on financial performance.
• Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks, oversee payroll for all staff, and manage vendor and account relationships.
• Track invoices, bills, and deposits, and ensure the organization's finances stay compliant with all applicable regulations and internal policies.
• Work with Box Office team supervising front-of-house staff, including box office, concessions, house management, and volunteers.
• Own ticketing and patron database systems, shape ticketing policy and audience development strategy.
• Attend regular staff meetings and serve as go-to resource for staff questions and reports; oversee reimbursements and department expense tracking.
• Be a visible on-site presence five days per week (up to 40 hours) with some evenings/weekends during productions; cover front-of-house gaps as needed.
