Job summary

Theatre Row, a program of Building for the Arts NY, Inc., is seeking a full-time Associate Production Manager to support the Production and Facilities teams in a fast-paced Off-Broadway venue. This 40-hour, salaried role requires evenings and weekends and includes supervising PFAs and assisting with building operations.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in production/tech theatre, knowledge of ETC lighting, QLab, and analog sound mixers, plus carpentry skills, problem-solving ability, and strong

Qualifications

• 2+ years of production and technical theatre experience.
• Working knowledge of standard theatrical lighting and sound equipment (ETC, QLab, analog sound mixers).
• Experience with handheld power tools and basic carpentry.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Commitment to Health and Safety best practices.
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to remain mobile for long periods (4+ hours) and lift 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as production staffing requires.

Responsibilities

• Assist PM in training and supervising PFAs.
• Open/close the building and secure active theatre spaces.
• Oversee load-ins, load-outs, rep plots, deck maintenance and upkeep.
• Troubleshoot building and production problems as they arise.
• Assist in managing technical equipment inventory and repairs.
• Maintain properties under BFA umbrella including rentals.
• Support light janitorial duties when needed and uphold safety standards.
