Job summary

Park District of Highland Park seeks a Theater Instructor to lead classes for ages 18 months through adult, choreograph routines, and foster a fun, creative learning environment.

The role involves teaching diverse Theater techniques, maintaining attendance, coordinating with supervisors, and supporting recruitment and curriculum development. A BA/BFA in Theater preferred, with extensive teaching experience encouraged.

Qualifications

• BA/BFA in Theater and/or Musical Theatre preferred or AA degree or equivalent.
• Ability to teach Theater styles from beginner to advanced is strongly desired.
• Previous teaching experience required.

Responsibilities

• Teach Theater classes for ages 18 months through adult.
• Observe students to tailor programs to needs and aspirations.
• Explain and demonstrate movement techniques to music.
• Motivate students to achieve goals in Theater.
• Maintain attendance and coordinate with staff.
• Attend rehearsals and performances as scheduled.
