Job summary

Omaha Performing Arts is seeking a Facilities Technician to provide on-site venue support during events and shows. You will manage HVAC controls, perform repairs, and assist contractors while maintaining safety and high service standards.

The role requires evening/weekend availability, strong tool use, and collaboration with staff. On-call duties and multi-craft capabilities are expected for full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Familiar with mechanical and electrical systems such as HVAC, Fire & Life/Safety, EMS, CCTV and access systems.
• Ability to repair mechanical and electrical systems.
• Requires ability to use hand tools and power tools common to the skills listed.
• Self-starter with the knowledge of complete tasks effectively and economically.
• Must be punctual and dependable.
• Ability to foster a cooperative working environment.
• Requires evening and weekend availability
• On call 24/7 for emergencies (Full-time employees only.)
• Experience using Microsoft Office Products.
• Venue and/or hospitality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides facility and venue support during shows and events, including HVAC operations.
• Adjusts controls and valves to regulate building systems.
• Assists and supervises the work of contractors and vendors.
• Maintains facilities related supplies and inventory.
• Keeps public and non-public areas ready during performances.
• Performs multi-craft tasks (locksmith, custodial, carpentry, plumbing, painting, setup).
• Ensures proper care and maintenance of equipment.
• Performs quality inspections on building systems.
• Prepares and maintains logs on building systems and maintenance.
• Facilitates teamwork with other Facilities Technicians to complete projects.
• Assist with set up and strikes of event resources (chairs, tables, equipment).
• May perform other duties as assigned.
