Job summary

The Coast Community College District seeks a non‑academic, non‑classified short‑term support employee to assist the theatre and related events, performing tasks in staging, sound, lighting, mechanical rigging and other technical systems.

Under direct to minimum supervision, you will support regular staff with temporary tasks; positions are at‑will, not benefits eligible, and may not exceed 160 working days in a fiscal year or 19 hours per week.

Definition

Under direct to minimum supervision of the head of the Division, Department, or Program, the non‑academic, non‑classified short‑term support employee will provide services to the department to support and assist regular employees by performing a variety of needed temporary tasks. Non‑academic, non‑classified short‑term employees are at‑will employees, have no entitlement rights to any position in the District, and are not benefits eligible. Short‑term employment shall not result in the displacement of classified personnel. Short‑term employees may be employed to perform work at irregular events. Employees may not exceed 160 working days within a fiscal year and may not exceed 19 hours per week and may occupy only one primary assignment.

Licenses or Other Requirements

Some job assignments may require a valid California driver’s license and/or possession of a license and/or certificate of completion from an accredited college or agency relative to the assigned area. Continuing education, training or certification may be required.
