Job Summary:

Department/Group Overview:

The legendary El Capitan Theatre, opened on May 3, 1926, as "Hollywood's First Home of Spoken Drama," has been restored to its original grandeur with a Spanish Colonial exterior and an elaborate East Indian interior designed by G. Albert Lansburgh. The theatre features a restored stage, high-speed lift, modern lighting, remodeled dressing rooms, and advanced special effects, seating 1,000 with a Dolby SR-D audio system. It serves as a first-run venue for Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and others, hosting premieres and live shows to bring showmanship back to Hollywood Boulevard.

Job Summary:

Are you friendly and outgoing? Use your smile to greet guests, provide directions, manage guest flow, assist with admissions and concessions. This fast-paced environment involves moving large crowds, cleaning between shows, and supporting interactive events like photo ops and costume displays.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Greet guests, scan tickets, and direct them to their seats.
  • Set up and remove stanchions and barricades.
  • Maintain clear pathways and cleanliness around the theatre.
  • Keep ADA areas accessible.
  • Assist with cleaning, trash removal, and safety protocols.
  • Guide guests through security, concessions, restrooms, and special events.
  • Execute POS sales, handle food prep, and manage inventory following health standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Enthusiasm for guest interaction.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with theatre procedures, local attractions, and emergency protocols.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs, climb stairs, and perform basic math.
  • Willingness to cross-train in various roles and work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
