The Logos Student Newspaper Assistant Editor at University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) is a student employment/Work-Study role supporting the campus newspaper, The Logos. The position involves writing, editing, photography, layout, and updating the website, under the Logos advisor.

You must be a full-time UIW student with a minimum GPA of 2.5 overall (3.0 in major) and at least a sophomore; work hours are flex around academics and supervision is provided by faculty.

Position Summary

The The Logos Student Newspaper Assistant Editor is the secondary person in charge of writing, editing, designing The Logos, a student-run newspaper. The Logos StudentNewsletter Assistant Editor reports to Faculty Advisor for The Logos.
This can be work study or student employment.

Essential Functions

• Cover campus assignments.
• Write stories.
• Take photographs.
• Lay out pages.
• Monitor telephone (answer, take messages, etc.).
• General clerical duties.
• Distribute newspapers.
• Promote newspaper.

• Other duties as assigned by Logos student editors and/or adviser (supervisor).

Preference given to students with previous high school or college journalistic experience (newspaper, yearbook, magazine, anthology, broadcasting class, website, etc.).
