Job summary

Aimbridge Hospitality is seeking an Executive Chef for The Gunter Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk. Lead culinary operations across Café, Room Service, Banquets and other outlets, setting the tone for food quality, presentation and guest satisfaction.

You will manage budgets, mentor a culinary team, uphold safety standards, and drive memorable dining experiences in a historic downtown hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Two-year college degree with at least three years of related experience or a four-year degree with minimum one year of related experience preferred.
• Five years of progressive hotel or related field experience including supervisory experience.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations with composure and objectivity.
• Must meet certification requirements (Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, First Aid).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist in food preparation across Café, Room Service, Banquets, and outlets with high standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
• Lead, motivate, coach, and discipline kitchen personnel to ensure efficient and high-quality service.
• Manage food costs, budgets, and optimize cost/production ratios to improve financial performance.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation, safety, and cleanliness per health regulations.
• Anticipate and address issues to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Clearly communicate information and resolve concerns with co-workers and guests.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
