Job summary

Bethany Christian Services is seeking a Case Aide in Nashville to support refugee and immigrant families with reunification and youth care. You will transport clients for appointments, document behaviors, and assist with intake/discharge logistics while maintaining trauma-informed practices.

The role requires a high school diploma, bilingual English/Spanish proficiency, and a commitment to compassionate client service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual: English and Spanish.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care; willing to be trained in Sanctuary Model.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Must be 21+ with valid U.S. driver’s license and 3 years driving experience.
• Ability to pass background checks and immunization requirements.
• Must provide language interpretation as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation to clients for medical appointments, legal appointments, hearings, and other social agencies.
• Report the behaviors of children during transportation to foster parents and the treatment team.
• Assist intake and discharge transportation, including travel from state-to-state for reunification with a sponsor.
• Assist the medical team with administrative tasks.
• Provide language interpretation for appointments out in the community, when needed.
• Provide supervision of youth in the classroom, when needed.
• Maintain professional boundaries are established and maintained at all times on the job and especially when supervising youth.
• Ensure trauma-informed environment training and compliance.
• May participate in Bethany sponsored events.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

As a Case Aide, you’ll walk alongside refugee and immigrant children as they seek family reunification, older youth preparing for adulthood in a new country, and foster families who give these children a home away from home.

How Your Role Makes a Difference

• Provide transportation to clients for but not limited to medical appointments, legal appointments, hearings, and other social agencies;

• Maintain an adequate knowledge of trauma and attend continuous training in the Sanctuary Model of Care to ensure compliance with trauma-informed environment;
• Essential job responsibilities may vary based on the specific needs of each program/department;
• May be required or asked to participate in a Bethany sponsored event;
• Complete other duties as assigned.

What Will Make You Successful

• High School Diploma or equivalent;
• Bilingual: English and Spanish;
• Knowledge of trauma and willing to be trained in the Sanctuary Model of Care to ensure compliance with trauma-informed environment;
• Demonstrated organizational skills;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Must be willing and able to provide language interpretation services;
• Must have an ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service;
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail;
• Must be reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks;
• Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
• Must be 21 years old with a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany;
• Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage;
• Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
• Exhibit integrity and good moral character to provide appropriate care;
• Possess the relevant experience and/or qualifications to work with these clients and clients with special needs; and,
• Be properly trained and licensed, as necessary.
• Must be able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route:
  • TDap or Tdap: Complete primary vaccination series. If primary vaccination series completed in childhood, one Tdap dose in adulthood.
  • Results of medical examination (as required by State Licensing, including results of TB tests and immunization records).
• Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.
