Description
- Assist campus and non-campus administrators in safeguarding textbooks and adhering to policies and procedures adopted by the State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC) and the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
- Maintain all records of textbook activity including textbook distribution and transfer from all schools within the district.
- Collect all funds from the schools for the sale of textbooks and control funds until the textbooks are replaced.
- Oversee all textbooks charged to the district by the Texas Education Agency.
- Oversee all textbooks requisitions for the district.
- Receive all textbook shipments for the district, including the official sample textbooks and Prospectus, and identify shipment errors and discrepancies.
- Report all publishers who fail to ship samples.
- Coordinate all shipments of textbooks from the district.
- Plan, prepare, and disseminate written instruction designed to facilitate the textbook delivery system.
- Create a yearly reporting calendar for use by all schools within the district.
- Work in collaboration with TEA and Region 10 to determine changes in textbook requirements.
- Work in collaboration with the technology department to enhance and generate reports comparable to TEA reports.
- Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
- All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in School Administration.
- Five years of directly related experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Public Education Information Management (PEIMS).
- Demonstrated expertise in developing, implementing, and monitoring Textbooks department in accordance with local, state, and federal policies.
- Demonstrated ability to submit accurate reports promptly.
- Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of administration.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written format.
- Organizational, communication, customer service, supervisory and interpersonal skills are required to achieve the goals of the position.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise considerable initiative and judgment.
