Job summary

Woolpert, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead bridge design for TxDOT-focused transportation projects in Texas. You will guide a multidisciplinary team through schematic designs, PS&E, and cost estimates, ensuring high-quality, code-compliant work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree in Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience leading bridge design projects.
• Proficiency with industry standard design software (e.g., PGSuper, WinCore, LEAP Bridge, MicroStation, CSiBridge, STAAD Pro, AASHTOWare).

Responsibilities

• Lead and collaborate with a team to manage and execute bridge design tasks for TxDOT projects.
• Oversee the preparation of structural designs, specifications, and cost estimations for bridges, retaining walls, and related infrastructure.
• Supervise load rating analysis, rehabilitation concepts, and structure type analyses.
• Mentor engineering team to use current design software to complete designs.
• Coordinate with other design teams and disciplines.
• Provide technical guidance to Professional Engineers/EITs and CAD Drafters on projects.
• Develop design procedures to ensure high-quality, cost-effective work by others.
• Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
• Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts.
• Execute QA checks on design calculations and drawings.
• Develop engineering budgets and schedules to support project management.
