Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our Austin office. The ideal candidate is a Texas-licensed litigator with 6–8 years of experience in medical malpractice, insurance defense, premises liability, or related civil matters.

You will work closely with partners and senior associates on strategy, discovery, motion practice, and resolution while managing cases through multiple litigation stages.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active Texas Bar license in good standing.
• Approximately 6–8 years of litigation experience.
• Background in medical malpractice, insurance defense or related civil defense.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice and strategic guidance to clients.
• Conduct legal research and evaluate liability, damages, defenses, and exposure.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, reports, and other litigation documents.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Attend hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and other court proceedings.
• Negotiate settlements and assist with dispute-resolution strategy.
• Manage discovery, deadlines, experts, and overall case progression.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case development and trial preparation.
• Represent clients in Texas state court and, when applicable, federal court.
