Job summary

FCCI Insurance Group is seeking a Territory Underwriting Manager for its Surplus Lines casualty business in Texas. The role focuses on profitable growth, underwriting complex accounts, and managing key agency relationships. It includes mentoring teammates, delivering training, and developing underwriting guidelines and products.

Travel across the Texas territory is required. The position is based in Texas, preferably in the Dallas metro area or Austin, and field-based with travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Eight years of commercial underwriting experience with a focus on casualty surplus lines.
• Thorough understanding of key exposures and portfolio pricing techniques.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze, define and solve problems; uses good judgement and decision making.
• Advanced ability to determine customer needs, provide solutions and price business appropriately.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Drive profitable growth of the Excess & Surplus line within the assigned Texas territory, including production, underwriting, sales and service.
• Underwrite and service the most complex accounts and largest agency relationships.
• Mentor teammates, deliver training programs and assist in developing underwriting guidelines and products.
• Collaborate with Admitted counterparts on cross-sell opportunities and joint marketing efforts.
• Travel throughout the territory to meet clients and partners.
