Job summary

Maycomb Schools District Wide in Brownfield, Texas seeks an Application Specialist - Technology to deploy software across a large environment. The role requires scripting, MSI packaging, and Enterprise Software Distribution experience.

You will support Windows platforms and troubleshoot remote workstations while maintaining thorough deployment documentation. The position is full-time, starting immediately, with a twelve-month term and benefits per the Classified Agreement.

Qualifications

• Experience with multi-site, large environment application package deployments.
• Working knowledge of scripting languages, multiple packaging and deployment applications, and distribution methods; Experience with MSI packaging.
• Understanding of Enterprise Software Distribution (i.e. SCCM 2007).
• Experience with Windows 2008, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 support.
• Ability to troubleshoot remote workstations regarding application installation issues.
• Proficient in Windows automation scripting (PowerShell, VBScript, Batch Files, Windows Scripting, AdminStudio).
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. up to 4 feet occasionally.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

• Work collaboratively with users and technology staff to research and plan deployment of new and upgraded software packages.
• Analyze the impact of applications against standard desktop configurations.
• Design, develop, test and manage software deployment packages for deployment and installation in an enterprise environment.
• Create and maintain documentation of applications including origin, licensing, affected users and installation and upgrade history.
• Maintain upgrade/support agreements with software vendors.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot computer malfunctions related to hardware, software, server and/or network.
