Job summary

ABB in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Quality Technician to assist the Quality team in implementing and maintaining a quality system. You will perform audits, reporting KPIs, and maintain process documentation, while supporting manufacturing operations.

You will be responsible for testing products to standards, performing quality checks, and maintaining production records in a fast-paced environment. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Prior manufacturing or quality control experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform push/pull functions.
• Overtime may be required and weekend work is possible.

This position reports to: Supervisor (Production)

In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist the Quality team in implementing and maintaining a quality system, including conducting audits, establishing controls, training on tools and methodologies. Each day, you will support activities related to quality management within the organizational unit. You will also showcase your expertise by reporting quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and customer cases and maintaining process documentation.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Safety

• Understands and follows plant safety and procedures
• Avoid or prevent hazardous conditions from developing
• Wears appropriate protective equipment as required, dresses and conducts self in a safe manner
• Keeps work area clean and orderly and maintains Lean 5S
• Participates in plant safety objectives

Job Functions

• Responsible for all aspects of testing product to standards, i.e. work instructions, S.O.P's, and revision control.
• Ensures quality operation of the process, performs quality checks and controls, including adherence to cleaning and maintenance
• Must maintain pre-determined efficiency, standards and productivity rates
• Prepares and maintains accurate production records and follows SOP's

Education and Experience

• High School diploma/GED is required
• Prior manufacturing experience or quality control experience Preferred
• Ability to lift to 40lbs and perform push/pull functions
• Can work overtime to meet Business Objectives
• Can work a weekend schedule as needed.
