Job summary

Bollinger Shipyards in Pascagoula, MS is seeking a Maintenance Technician to implement preventative maintenance procedures for vessel equipment in accordance with vendor and customer requirements.

Candidates should have 3–6 years of shipboard mechanical or electrical experience, and the ability to read engineering drawings. The role also requires strong teamwork to support yard operations and documentation of PM activities.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years’ experience in shipboard Mechanics and/or Electrical disciplines.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Ability to interact with customers, management and employees across the division.

GENERAL FUNCTION

Implements Preventative Maintenance Procedures for all vessel equipment, in compliance with customer and Vendor requirements.

TYPICAL DUTIES

• Conducts and completes all required Preventative Maintenance activities specified by Vendor, Customer, and department Manager.
• Maintains Preventative Maintenance documents for all projects. Submits Procedures as assigned.
• Addresses deficiencies evidenced as a result of PM and works with dept. Manager and Vendors to correct deficiencies.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Considerable knowledge of shipbuilding processes and industry standards and regulations. Good knowledge of testing equipment and measuring devices. Ability to interpret engineering drawings. Ability to effectively interact with customers, management, and employees in all areas within the division.

EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

3-6 years’ experience in shipboard Mechanics and/or Electrical disciplines or any equivalent combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
