Job summary

Bollinger Mississippi Shipbuilding LLC in Pascagoula, MS is seeking a TEST & TRIALS WORKER-C for full-time work in preventative maintenance of vessel equipment. The role requires understanding of shipbuilding processes and basic mechanical tools.

The candidate should have up to 3 years of experience in shipboard mechanics or electrical disciplines and be able to read engineering drawings and work with customers, management, and vendors to resolve deficiencies.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years’ experience in shipboard mechanics and/or electrical disciplines.
• Knowledge of shipbuilding processes and industry standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Basic mechanics hand tools required.

Responsibilities

• Implements Preventative Maintenance procedures for vessel equipment as specified by Vendor, Customer and department Foreman.
• Maintains Preventative Maintenance documents for all projects and submits procedures as assigned.
• Addresses deficiencies evidenced as a result of PM with dept. Manager and Vendors to correct deficiencies.
• Interacts effectively with customers, management, and employees within the division.

GENERAL FUNCTION: Implements Preventative Maintenance Procedures for all vessel equipment, in compliance with customer and Vendor requirements.

TYPICAL DUTIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.

Conducts and completes all required Preventative Maintenance activities specified by Vendor, Customer, and department Foreman.

Maintains Preventative Maintenance documents for all projects. Submits Procedures as assigned. Addresses deficiencies evidenced as a result of PM and works with dept. Manager and Vendors to correct deficiencies.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Considerable knowledge of shipbuilding processes and industry standards and regulations. Good knowledge of testing equipment and measuring devices. Ability to interpret engineering drawings. Ability to effectively interact with customers, management, and employees in all areas within the division. Must possess basic Mechanics hand tools.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: 0-3 years’ experience in shipboard Mechanics and/or Electrical disciplines or any equivalent combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
