Job summary

SWARCO McCain, Inc. is seeking a Test Technician to join our Vista, CA manufacturing team. You will perform cabinet functional testing, troubleshoot issues, and modify cabinets per instructions to meet specifications while documenting results.

The role requires reading electrical wiring and schematics, using DVMs and oscilloscopes, and collaborating with engineers and QA to resolve line issues in a fast-paced environment. Strong records management is essential.

• Must have computer skills (e.g., Great Plains).

We are seeking a Test Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing cabinet functional testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and modifying cabinets as per instructions and specifications in a timely manner.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform cabinet functional test.
• Perform assembly functional test.
• Troubleshoot and debug if necessary.
• Furnish and certify test results.
• Perform process quality checks on sub-assemblies and finished product.
• Utilize small hand tools, calibrated instruments, measurement equipment, and test fixtures.
• Work with engineers, QA, and technicians to resolve line issues and suggest improvements.
• Maintain accurate records/documentation related to quality, work in process, test results, labor (timecards) and special projects.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to read electrical wiring and schematics.
• Must be able to use DVM, scope, and other electronic test equipment.
• Must have computer skills, i.e.: able to use Great Plains, etc.
• Must be creative and able to work as a member of the cabinet test team.

• Must have working experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• An electronics background is strongly desired.
• Familiarity with document control is helpful.

Physical Conditions / Requirements

• No unusual physical requirements. It requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is done in a comfortable indoor facility.
• Occasional – Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
• Job frequently requires sitting and handling objects with hands.
• Job occasionally requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
• Hearing requirements: Ability to hear people over the telephone and in person; hear noises in surrounding areas, i.e., forklifts in the warehouse for safety purposes.
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.

Salary Description
