Job summary

SWARCO McCain is seeking a Test Technician to perform cabinet functional testing, troubleshooting, and modification per instructions in a timely manner. You will test cabinets and assemblies, work with engineers and QA to resolve issues, and document results.

The role requires reading wiring diagrams, using DVM and oscilloscope, and strong computer skills; electronics background preferred. Clean, safe workspace and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to use DVM, oscilloscope and other electronic test equipment.
• Must have computer skills (e.g., Great Plains).
• Electronics background is strongly desired.
• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Familiarity with document control is helpful.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform cabinet functional test.
2. Perform assembly functional test.
3. Troubleshoot and debug if necessary.
4. Furnish and certify test results.
5. Perform process quality checks on sub-assemblies and finished product.
6. Utilize small hand tools, calibrated instruments, measurement equipment, and test fixtures.

Requirements

13. Must have working experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
14. An electronics background is strongly desired.
15. Familiarity with document control is helpful.

Physical Conditions / Requirements

• No unusual physical requirements. It requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is done in a comfortable indoor facility.
• Occasional – Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
• Job frequently requires sitting and handling objects with hands.
• Job occasionally requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
• Hearing requirements: Ability to hear people over the telephone and in person; hear noises in surrounding areas, i.e., forklifts in the warehouse for safety purposes.
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
