Scientific Drilling is looking for a Test Technician to work at our Applied Technologies Center in Paso Robles, CA. Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging Service Company serving customers worldwide. Our industry leading navigation systems provide definitive wellbore placement information, enabling safer and more efficient placement of tightly spaced wellbores throughout the world. Test Technician position will be working in our Manufacturing department.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Calibrate electronic equipment using a written procedure.
  • Ensure that equipment passes specifications after calibration.
  • Adhere to and improve safety standards.
  • Manage work station and practice good housekeeping techniques.
  • May be required to work overtime.
  • Pursue every job with drive and determination.
  • Use logic to solve problems with effective solutions.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the needs of the business.

Education, Experience, Certification, And Training
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience using multi-meters and oscilloscopes to measure voltages and waveforms is preferred.
Location, Physical Requirements and PPE:
Manufacturing
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, identify colors, hear with aid, see , write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry 25 lbs. and under, perceive depth, and operate motor equipment.
  • Conditions include working inside. Working around moving objects, machines with moving parts. Working around radiant and electrical energy. Work with heated soldering iron and flux. Working closely with others, working alone, working extended and/or irregular hours. Working environment may include but not limited to, intermittent noise, fumes, smoke, grease, dust, oils and solvents.
  • Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but not limited to computer and related equipment, calculator, special instrumentation, hand tools, power tools, air tools, microscope and telephone. Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, reinforced toed shoes, gloves, and ear plugs or muffs.
