Job summary

SAF-HOLLAND is seeking a hands-on Test Technician in Muskegon, MI to evaluate current and prototype products within our Testing & Analysis team. The role focuses on building, testing, and validating mechanical systems from concept to reality.

Ideal candidates will have 2–5 years of hydraulics, fabrication, welding, and machine shop experience, and the ability to read engineering drawings while maintaining documentation and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 2–5 years in hydraulics, fabrication, welding or related fields.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and follow technical instructions.
• Experience with mills, lathes, drill presses, saws and welding equipment.

Responsibilities

• Build and set up products, fixtures, and testing equipment for evaluations.
• Conduct testing following established procedures and safety standards.
• Operate servo-hydraulic and mechanical testing equipment.
• Record observations, document results, and communicate findings to engineers.
• Fabricate and modify components using machine shop and welding techniques.
• Help maintain testing equipment, fixtures, and hydraulic systems.
• Verify calibration and maintain documentation supporting quality requirements.
• Keep the test lab safe, organized, and operating efficiently.

What You'll Do

As a Test Technician, you'll be an essential member of our Testing & Analysis team, helping evaluate both current and prototype products.

Physical & Work Environment

This role is active and hands-on. You'll work in a dynamic testing and lab environment that includes mechanical equipment, fabrication tools, and testing systems.

You'll spend time standing, walking, lifting materials, operating equipment, and working around machinery while following industry-leading safety practices.
