Randstad USA in Long Island designs and manufactures high-reliability electronic assemblies. We seek an Electronics Test Technician to inspect, evaluate and repair complex assemblies to meet strict quality standards.

You will perform functional, environmental, and stress tests, troubleshoot to component level, and document results with precision. The role requires hands-on testing, soldering, and proficient use of test equipment in a collaborative production and quality team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in electronics technology or related field.
• Hands-on experience with diagnostic equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies).
• Background in component-level troubleshooting and reading schematics.
• Proficiency in precision hand-soldering (SMD and through-hole).

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional, environmental, and stress tests to verify products meet standards.
• Troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues to isolate and fix defects.
• Operate oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and thermal chambers.
• Perform precision hand-soldering and wiring on prototype boards.
• Read schematics/blueprints and record test data and calibration results.

Job description

For our Long Island office, we design and manufacture high-reliability electronic assemblies and systems. We are seeking a detail-oriented Electronics Test Technician to join our production and quality team. In this role, you will play a critical part in inspecting, evaluating, and repairing complex electronic assemblies to ensure our products meet strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Testing: Conduct functional, environmental, and stress tests—such as temperature, vibration, and submersion to verify products meet engineering standards.
• Fault Diagnosis: Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues down to the component level to isolate and fix defects.
• Equipment & Tools: Operate oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and thermal chambers to inspect circuit behavior.
• Soldering & Repair: Perform precision hand-soldering (SMD and through-hole), wiring, and prototype board modifications.
• Technical Documentation: Read schematics and blueprints while recording test data, defect logs, and calibration results.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience/certifications.
• Hands-on experience using diagnostic equipment (oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies).
• Background in component-level troubleshooting and reading technical schematics.
• Proficiency in precision hand-soldering (SMD and through-hole components).
• High attention to detail and written documentation skills.
