Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking an Electronics Inspection Specialist to join our bench inspection team in the Town of Islip, NY. You will perform high-magnification visual inspections of PCBAs, focusing on through-hole components and verification.

The role requires microscope proficiency, the ability to identify components on both sides of complex boards, and basic data sheet review. You will log pass/fail data and support the quality system under ISO900 practices.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of executing continuous, precise inspections under a stereo microscope.
  • Ability to properly identify passive and active components across both sides of a circuit board.
  • Practical, hands-on experience inspecting through-hole parts and evaluating solder connections.
  • Basic computer literacy with the ability to read and interpret electronic data sheets and schematic diagrams.
  • High attention to detail, visual accuracy, and steady hand-eye coordination.

Job description

We are looking for a sharp-eyed Electronics Inspection Specialist to join our bench inspection team. In this role, you will serve as a key checkpoint for quality, performing high-magnification visual inspections of both sides of our printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) with afocus on through-hole components and component verification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Microscopic Inspection: Perform hands-on visual inspections under a microscope to identify soldering defects, physical damage, and assembly errors on circuit boards.
  • Through-hole Expertise: Conduct detailed, hands-on inspections of through-hole components to ensure proper seating, polarity, lead length, and solder joint integrity.
  • Dual-sided Component Identification: Confidently identify, verify, and cross-reference electronic components installed on both top and bottom sides of complex PCBs.
  • Data & Specification Verification: Use basic computer skills to pull up component data sheets, review assembly drawings, and log inspection pass/fail data into our tracking system.
