Job summary

Aleron in Lockport, NY is seeking a Test Technician for a temporary role to support production schedules. You will test and troubleshoot electronic equipment, following procedures, schematics and verbal/written instructions to ensure performance targets are met.

You’ll perform assembly operations, set up and calibrate circuits and instruments, document results accurately, and maintain fixtures while supporting ISO practices and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• AAS degree in electronics or equivalent.
• Experience reading schematics and assembly documentation.
• Soldering skills highly preferred.
• Knowledge of ESD practices.
• Basic computer knowledge and SAP familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Performs production assembly operations on electronic components and sub-assemblies.
• Tests and troubleshoots units using procedures, drawings and schematics.
• Identifies nonconformities and assists in safety and ISO procedures.
• Maintains fixtures, calibrates, and performs preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Sets up, calibrates, tests and troubleshoots circuits and equipment.
• Documents test results accurately.
• Interacts as a technical interface with other departments.

• Compensation: $18-$24/hour depending on experience
• Schedule: Mon-Fri (7am - 3:30pm)

About the Opportunity

Performs testing and troubleshooting of electronic equipment to meet production schedules and performance standards. Receives instructions on daily work and new assignments. Duties and tasks are standardized but what is performed will vary day to day.

What You’ll Do

• Performs various production assembly operations on electronic components and sub-assemblies.
• Uses test procedures, drawings, schematics and verbal/written instructions to test and troubleshoot units.
• Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where the ability to recognize nonconformities is required.
• Understands and follows all safety requirements.
• Understands and follows all ISO practices and procedures.
• Maintains fixturing, performs calibration, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance. May assist with training other AE employees in established processes.
• Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
• Documents test results accurately.
• May act as the technical interface with other departments.

• Previous experience in electrical circuits and assemblies testing preferred.
• Proven ability and experience maintaining flexibility and being able to adapt in a team environment.
• Knowledge and understanding of ESD practices.
• Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math functions.
• Soldering skills highly preferred
• Ability to perform basic electro/mechanical assembly skills.
• Component Identification and the ability to read technical assembly documentation and schematics highly preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Basic Knowledge of SAP.
