Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Test Technician to run AGVs through testing protocols and verify proper assembly. You will monitor simulations of customer systems, track setup for reliability, and repair parts returned for debugging or in-house assembly issues.

Strong understanding of electrical systems helps you troubleshoot and fix issues, with all tests documented for engineering review. The role is contract-to-hire, onsite in Grand Rapids, MI, with a daytime schedule and predictable breaks.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of test technician experience with industrial equipment, machinery, hydraulic systems, electrical equipment, or other mechanical systems.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing components on moving equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics (2+ years).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Experience documenting test procedures, results, and findings using Excel and/or Word.

Job Description

Test Technician will be running the Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) through testing protocol to ensure it was assembled properly for the customer. After the power up technician completes the power up process for the Automated Guided vehicles using vehicle schematics/assembly drawings, test technicians will monitor simulations of customers systems and track set up for reliability. Test technicians will also repair parts returned from the customers for debugging or those that were not properly assembled in house. Not all AGVs will run perfectly, so being able to understand electrical systems to troubleshoot and fix the issue is essential. Each test will be documented for engineering to review.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of test technician experience working with industrial equipment, machinery, hydraulic systems, electrical equipment, or other mechanical systems
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing components on moving equipment
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics (2+ years)

Work Environment

This role follows a primary schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the potential for 10-hour days and occasional Saturday work that is not frequent.
This workday includes two paid 15-minute breaks, typically around 8:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and one unpaid 30-minute lunch around 11:30 a.m.
The environment centers on testing and preparing Automated Guided Vehicles in a hands‑on, industrial setting that involves powered equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, and use of computers for configuration and documentation

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
