Job summary

ACDi in Frederick, MD is seeking a Test Technician to perform electro-mechanical assembly, testing and troubleshooting per customer specs and documentation.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with an A.A. degree preferred and 1–3 years of relevant experience. Strong detail orientation and ability to read schematics are essential. ACDi offers PTO, holidays, benefits, and a 401(k) plan.

Responsibilities

  • Use small hand tools to complete box builds, cable/wire and PCB assemblies.
  • Review work instructions and SOPs on computer.
  • Test and troubleshoot electronic equipment from documentation and BOMs.
  • Troubleshoot at the component level.
  • Use electronic test equipment to verify assemblies.
  • Complete manufacturing data paperwork and ensure timing requirements.
  • X-ray PCBA to diagnose issues.
  • May assist with packing, labeling and inspection of assemblies.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Test Technician will perform a wide range of electro-mechanical assembly operations in support of production projects. This individual will assemble, test and troubleshoot various electro-mechanical assemblies based on customer specifications and documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Use small hand tools (including but not limited to; screw driver, tweezers, pliers, etc.) to complete box builds, cable/wire assembles and PCB assemblies
  • Use the computer to complete shop move logs and review work instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Use documentation such as test procedures, bill-of-materials (BOM), assembly drawings, schematics and part specifications to test and troubleshoot a variety of electronic equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot at the component level
  • Use a variety of electronic test equipment; such as DMM, oscilloscope, and frequency counter to test and troubleshoot a variety of electronic assemblies.
  • Check and complete all paperwork associated with the manufacturing data pick
  • Ensure manufacturing time requirements are met
  • X-ray PCBA to help diagnose issues
  • Other duties may be assigned including, but not limited to, packing, boxing and labeling of finished product, inspection of mechanical assemblies, through hole assemblies and some soldering

  • Ability to log onto computer workstations with the ability to create, save and retrieve electronic files in an organized and efficient manner
  • Ability to use all standard test equipment related to position
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings and verbal instructions to build assemblies, subassemblies and components
