Job summary

ARC Technology Solution LLC in Nashua, NH, seeks an Electro-Mechanical Test Technician to assemble, test, troubleshoot, and verify electro-mechanical products in a build-to-print environment. You will perform functional tests on electrical, electronic, mechanical systems per drawings, specs, and customer requirements.

You will operate DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators and hipot testers, read schematics and wiring diagrams, and document results.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical school or associate degree in electronics preferred.
  • 2+ years in electrical/electro-mechanical assembly and testing preferred.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional, electrical, and electro-mechanical testing of assemblies, subassemblies, and completed products.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, bills of material, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Execute customer and internally developed acceptance test procedures (ATP), functional test procedures (FTP), and verification testing.
  • Operate electrical and electronic test equipment including digital multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators, hipot/insulation resistance testers, and other specialized equipment.
  • Perform continuity, resistance, voltage, current, insulation, functional, and operational testing as required.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, and wiring-related failures using systematic diagnostic techniques.
  • Identify defective components, wiring errors, assembly issues, workmanship problems, and test equipment/setup issues.
  • Make approved adjustments, repairs, rework, and component replacements within established procedures.
  • Document test results, measurements, failures, corrective actions, and final acceptance accurately and completely.
  • Generate and maintain test records and other required quality documentation.
  • Support engineering and quality personnel during product verification, qualification, and customer acceptance activities.
  • Assist with development and improvement of test fixtures, test setups, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Verify calibration status and proper operation of test equipment before use.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe test and work area.
  • Follow all company quality, safety, security, and document-control requirements.
  • Identify recurring test failures and communicate trends or concerns to Engineering, Quality, and Production.
  • Support nonconformance investigations and troubleshooting activities as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Overview:

The Electro-Mechanical Test Technician is responsible for the assembly, integration, testing, troubleshooting, verification, and acceptance of electro-mechanical products and assemblies in a build-to-print contract manufacturing environment. This position performs functional testing of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, test procedures, work instructions, and customer requirements.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical school, associate degree, military technical training, or equivalent experience in electronics, electrical technology, electro-mechanical technology, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical, electronic, mechanical, or electro-mechanical assembly and testing preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical and electronic principles.
  • Ability to use common electrical and mechanical hand tools and test equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to accurately follow detailed written test procedures and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with Engineering, Quality, Production, and other departments.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, medical, industrial, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with build-to-print manufacturing.
  • Experience performing acceptance testing on customer products.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems.
  • Experience with COTS and custom electronic components and systems.
  • Experience with wiring, harnesses, connectors, relays, switches, motors, sensors, power supplies, and control systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and electro-mechanical assemblies to the component level.
  • Ability to use oscilloscopes and other advanced electronic test equipment.
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, or related certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and spend extended periods on the production floor.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment and manufacturing tools as required.
