Job summary

Acara Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to develop and execute detailed test plans and automated test systems. You will collaborate with product engineers, design test fixtures, and lead in-house tests across functional areas, ensuring quality and compliance.

The role requires 5+ years with LabVIEW, Altium and SolidWorks, and a strong command of MS Office. Occupational safety and regulatory adherence are key. Relocation is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 5+ years developing and maintaining test executive software (LabVIEW) with version control.
• 5+ years in advanced engineering design tools (Altium, SolidWorks).
• 5+ years Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product engineers to define, document, and analyze test requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Design, document, and implement test fixtures, cables, and ATEs.
• Lead cross-functional reviews of test fixtures and automated test systems.
• Work with Test Equipment Technicians to build test fixtures and automated systems.
• Stay up to date with testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Identify, document, and track test anomalies with engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex test equipment and contribute to issue discovery.
• Perform functional, environmental, and field testing; run regression tests.
• Lead in-house special tests with instrumentation such as thermal control, data recorders, analyzers.
• Update process documentation to increase efficiency and quality.
• Guide junior engineers on automated test execution and equipment troubleshooting.

Compensation: $140k Salary (Relocation is available)

Schedule: 40 hrs/Week.

About the Opportunity:

• Develop and execute detailed test plans, procedures, and test software, adhering to internal quality control standards and industry-specific regulations.
• Experience with LabVIEW or Python or MATLAB
• Write specifications and Statements of Work for new test fixtures and automated test systems.
• Develop test scripts, automated test cases, and test executives based on specifications.

What You'll Do:

• Collaborate with Product engineers to define, document, and analyze test requirements, equipment, and acceptance criteria for modules, units, and modifications.
• Design, document, and implement test equipment fixtures, cables, and ATEs.
• Conduct cross-functional reviews of test fixture and automated test systems.
• Work with Test Equipment Technicians to build test fixtures and automated test systems.
• Stay up to date with testing methodologies, tools, and industry best practices.
• Identify, document, and track test anomalies by working with Product engineering to ensure timely resolution.
• Troubleshoot and make repairs to complex test equipment and contribute to product issue discovery.
• Perform various types of testing, including functional, environmental, and field tests.
• Perform regression testing through simulation and induced faults to validate new or modified equipment to ensure no new defects are introduced.
• Lead in-house special tests, including operating test instrumentation such as thermal control, data recorders, and analyzers.
• Update internal and customer-visible process documentation to increase efficiency and quality.
• Guide junior engineers and support staff on automated test execution and test equipment troubleshooting.
• Ability to work flexible hours or different shifts, as required.
• Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, State and Federal Regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Excellent ability of written and verbal communication skills for developing processes, procedures,

• Soldering (IPC J-STD-001 certification).
• Electronics inspection (IPC A-610 certification) Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills for addressing design issues and challenges.
