Job summary

Oklo is seeking a Test Process Equipment Engineer in Idaho Falls to support test platforms used in advanced nuclear technology development. You will manage equipment from requirements through installation and testing, with about 10% travel to ensure performance and safety.

The role requires strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering, experience with equipment specifications, and QA practices in a fast-paced testing environment. Nuclear industry exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, nuclear engineering, or related field.
• Experience designing, specifying, procuring, commissioning, or troubleshooting process equipment.
• Experience preparing P&ID, PFD, data sheets, specs, and vendor drawings.
• Knowledge of pumps, valves, piping, heat exchangers, tanks, pressure equipment, heaters, or related components.
• Ability to perform fluid-flow, pressure-drop, heat-transfer, and sizing calculations.
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Size, select, and specify pumps, valves, heat exchangers, tanks, and other process equipment based on test requirements.
• Perform engineering calculations involving fluid flow, pressure drop, heat transfer, equipment capacity, and sizing.
• Develop and review piping and instrumentation diagrams, equipment data sheets, and fabrication drawings.
• Support test readiness reviews, startup, operation, monitoring, shutdown, and post-test activities and reports.
